From Wounds to Wonder

In this powerful reflection on resurrection, we encounter a profound truth that challenges our expectations of heaven and healing. The sermon invites us to contemplate something astonishing: the only man-made things in eternity are the wounds of Jesus. Through John 20:24-29, we witness Thomas's encounter with the risen Christ, where Jesus doesn't shame doubt but welcomes it with open, scarred hands. These wounds aren't weaknesses but eternal testimonies of victory, love, and sacrifice. The message reveals that resurrection doesn't erase suffering but redeems it, transforming our pain into purpose. We're reminded that Jesus is our sympathetic high priest who fully understands every wound we carry, whether from broken relationships, difficult childhoods, health struggles, or emotional trauma. The invitation is clear: healing begins where our wounds meet His. We're challenged to stop hiding our brokenness and instead bring it into contact with the scars of our Savior. While wounded is the reality in which we all live, staying wounded is not God's design for us. The transformative promise echoes throughout: Jesus will transform whatever we transfer to Him, turning our sorrow into joy and our suffering into testimony.
