The Word of Christ
What does it truly mean to carry the gospel into the world around us? Romans 10:14-21 lays out a compelling chain of dependence: people cannot call on someone they have not believed in, cannot believe in someone they have not heard, and cannot hear without someone willing to speak. That chain lands squarely on us. We are the messengers, and the beauty of that calling is not found in our eloquence or our platform or our polished presentation. It is found in the message itself. We are, as the text reminds us, imperfect vessels carrying a perfect gospel. The cracks in our lives do not disqualify us; they actually keep the focus where it belongs, on Christ and what he has done. This message challenges us to stop waiting until we feel ready or gifted enough, and instead to recognize that our congregation might simply be the neighbor across the street, the cousin we have been praying for, or the coworker whose name has been on our hearts for years. Faithfully sharing the good news in small, relational, everyday ways is not a lesser form of ministry. It is exactly the mode God has always used to advance his redemptive plan throughout history.
